Some little known and unstudied manuscripts at Casa Carducci allow us to obtain new information on Carducci’s studies of ancient Greek Literature, in particular, those papers on which, between 1855 and 1856, he tried out his translations of the texts of the Greek tragedians of the 5th century BC. Carducci often used the backs of other documents to write these early attempts. One of these is a draft of the poem A Diana Trivia, a rough, incomplete version which seems to be a reworking of A la luna, written in 1851.
