Abstract

The essay illustrates the structure, purpose, and methodological approach of Simonetta Santucci’s writings collected in the volume Documenti alla mano. Indagini e studi a Casa Carducci (Documents in Hand. Investigations and Studies at Carducci's Home), and highlights the virtuous circle of archival studies and philological investigations that renders the book (and the author’s entire scholarly output) an example of learned research which in turn becomes a history of literature and culture.
