The infinite resources of the internet modify and simplify research even in the philological field by highlighting a series of materials that were unthinkable until yesterday. However, there is a ‘gray area’ that is only partially touched upon and not very accessible, that of private collecting. This contribution offers concrete examples of Carduccian autographs (partly unpublished) preserved in Roberto Fumagalli's collection, underlining the need for close collaboration between scholars, collectors and antiquarian bookshops.
