A study experience: Carducci’s Nuove poesie

Abstract

The author retraces the research she has devoted to Carducci's Nuove poesie and draws up a preliminary assessment. Scholars have never focused on this topic as a whole, as Carducci himself dismembered these poems in Giambi ed epodi and Rime nuove. Nonetheless this collection marks a crucial step within Carducci’s poetic and ideological itinerary. The variety of themes, forms and stylistic solutions that can be found in Nuove poesie highlights the versatility achieved by Enotrio Romano in the early 1870s.
